Learn how to make your own paper with our easy to use equipment.

When it is dry you can use it for writing, painting, collage, stitching - you are only limited by your imagination! This workshop will be in the studio and includes all equipment needed.

We are holding a First Steps session in the morning covering the basics of papermaking, and a more advanced Next Steps session in the afternoon showing how to add colour and texture to your papers.

You can book for an individual session, but if you wish to attend the afternoon session only you should have previous papermaking experience .

There is a discount if you book for both classes.

Denise will be showing you how to make a lampshade after printing and stitching the fabric.

We will be printing our fabric with fabric paints and once it is dry you can add stitch and embellishments, either by hand stitching, free motion machine stitching, or a combination – your choice! If you don't want to add any stitching, you can always print more fabric for another lampshade.

If you do wish to stitch by machine, we suggest you bring yours with you. You are welcome to use one of ours by arrangement - just let us know.

All materials (including the lampshade frame) are supplied but if you prefer you can bring along your favourite hand/machine threads in the colour of your choice so that the lampshade will fit in with your colour scheme..The lampshades you make will be suitable for use with LED light bulbs.

For those who have been on a Zentangle class before and would like to find out more!

In this class we will be working with tan coloured tiles and will be learning about 'reticular', a grid structure in which you can draw 'fragments'. Materials are included.

Join Wendy to make a fabulous textile book. You can use it to show off all your own stitched samples as shown here, or construct pages from trimmings, photographs printed on fabric, ribbon, and scraps of fabric. You will construct your book on the day, and Wendy will supply some transfers for you iron on to fabric to stitch, although you may not finish this on the day.

We will supply the fabric for the book, pieces of fabric, ribbon & lace, buttons, transfers etc., but you are encouraged to bring the embellishments and any samples of your work you would like to include. There will also be extras to buy on the day at a discount.

We welcome back Alysn with a new two day class which will use a combination of velvet, papers, metal fabric, metallic fibres, stitch and beading to create a sumptuous surface taking patterns and texture from tree bark as its inspiration. and using combinations of domestically available reclaimed fine metals, industrial metal cloths, paper and velvet. 

You will leave with a lovely embroidered work which could be used as a panel, book cover, jewellery, decorative fashion elements etc.  Can be hand or machine stitched or both and suitable for all levels of experience.

A requirements list will be available for this class shortly but we will be able supply anything you do not have.
