Welcome to the many new members of our mailing list. This newsletter is intended to keep you up to date with all the things going on in the studio, and to let you know about new stock and our workshop programme.
Usually the newsletter is sent by email to those of you who are internetted, but this time I’m posting out a copy of my new workshop programme to everyone for a change!
Although we didn’t win in the final of the Basildon and District Business Awards, I was absolutely delighted that Craft Arena got through to the final in the ‘New Company’ category. Hopefully we will have a chance to enter again nextyear. I am proudly displaying the certificate we received in the studio window!
Special Offers
Recently I have featured a different special offer in the studio each week. Following your feedback, I shall now offer the specials over two weeks. From Friday 25th July until Thursday 7th August, there will be 10% off Texere thread and yarns. This includes the ever popular Variety Bags, silk and viscose thread for dyeing and glitter yarn.

Workshops
New workshops for this season are a two hour Needle Felting workshop (sometimes called Dry Felting), smocking, fabric painting and Constructed Fabrics, which is a three week course.
If you are not sure about any of the techniques featured in the programme, do email or ring and I’ll give you more information.
I am planning some beading workshops for October, on Thursday mornings. If you are interested in finding out more, 
get in touch.
For those of you with children, I will be holding fabric painting workshops on a Wednesday afternoon from 30th July to 27th August. I have some children’s cotton bags which will look great with their designs on. Details are included in the workshop programme.
New Stock
- I have more Creative Sprays by Craftynotions in stock – these are fantastic as they can be used on paper or fabric and have proved very popular.
- Dye Na Flow liquid paint will be in stock within the next few weeks. This concentrated paint can be used on natural and synthetic fabric and is extremely versatile. It can be used for fabric painting, silk painting, sponge printing, batik or wax resist and comes in 30 colours.
- Lumiere metallic and Neopaque paint will also be available shortly.
- I’ve sourced some real copper for those who enjoy metal embossing and including metal with fabric. I’m hoping this will be in by the end of August.
- I have Dupion silk, silk chiffon and pre-felt on order. All natural colours which will just be waiting for dye or Creative Sprays!
- Also coming soon: Misty Fuse, a paperless sheet adhesive which can be used for all weights of fabric from velvets and cottons to nets and organzas. It is incredibly sheer, doesn't add bulk to your fused piece and bonds firmly once cooled.
Workout Club
There are still one or two places left on our Workout club which is held on the 2nd Thursday of each month from 7 to 9 in the evening. In August we will be playing with fabric and paint! Do ask for more information.
